Pietro is the patron chef of one of the best restaurants in Italy located along the coastal area of Taormina.
He was one of the first in Sicily to gain the Michelin star, soon acclaimed by gastronomic critics and international opinion-makers and food lovers for his personal way to combine creativity and regional specialties so to give birth to the best reinterpretation of the Sicilian gastronomic tradition.
From fresh food to vegetables, from Slow Food presidia to a wise use of local extra-virgin olive oils, it’s always the quality of ingredients which gives the basis for the key of success of his restaurant.

Located in the centre of Taormina, Pietro’s Sicilian cooking lab is his brand new cooking adventure, that we are happy to count among our cooking classes: here he meets food lovers and with his mastery and passion he guides kids and adults along the secrets of Sicilian ingredients and cuisine. Classes are held morning time and each dish will be tasted and accompanied by an excellent local wine.

In the south-east of Sicily, further south of Tunis, in a valley shaped like an hourglass, lives a baroque town and its people, its streets, its monuments and its climate that brushes it in all seasons.
A crystal clear sea and beaches of golden sand, spaced out by dramatic cliffs, constitute about 20 km of coastline.
Here, the “unique” is everywhere: in the air you breathe, in the astonishing natural scenery, in the baroque architecture of the old town, in the art of painting, in the flavors that fill the tables.
Out of the love of this land and the passion for aromatic and therapeutic herbs, a garden nursery was born fifteen years ago.
The farm is run in a familiar context that encourages the work to be done manually, thus always maintaining high standards in quality. Here the plant is valued as a fundamental part of a territory to understand, rediscover and respect, with the knowledge of finding yourself in the middle of the Mediterranean, melting pot of countless cultures for thousands of years.
You will be guided through a multisensorial itinerary of unknown flavors and forgotten fragrances that will end in the kitchen garden area.
Here, a truly countryside aperitif will give you the possibility to taste unexpected culinary creations made with typical local products.
In a fully equipped professional kitchen set in a such natural scenery and surrounded by several fragrances our Chef Rita will captivate you with a hands-on Cooking Class or simply a Cooking Show.
The beauty of the Ragusano countryside overlooking the Mediterranean sea is always included!

This one-day culinary experience is not just a cooking lesson: it is the perfect introduction to Sicily, and a unique piece in our Sicilian cooking classes selection.

It offers an insider’s view of a modern Sicilian noble lifestyle, paired with a learning experience and delicious food and a day of immersion into the Palermitani everyday life that includes shopping for the meal, a tour of Palermo and an impressive 18th century palace, learning the secrets of traditional Sicilian cuisine with a nice lady, member of one of the most important Sicilian noble families, cooking in her kitchen a grand meal.
Her Palazzo belonged to Prince Giulio Fabrizio Tomasi di Lampedusa 
(the model for the prince in The Leopard) and was subsequently purchased by his great-grandson, author the author of The Leopard, the famous Italian novel that chronicles cultural changes in Sicily during Italy’s unification in the 19th century. Her husband is the adopted heir of Prince Giuseppe Tomasi and they both restored his family’s Palazzo so that nowadays it still retains its original charme and tells the history of the family as well as of the island.

Students join tour nice host in the morning, accompanying her at the market and local shops to learn how to navigate Sicily’s busy market and food shops and select the right ingredients for a typical multi-course Sicilian meal. Her menus are strictly inspired by the season, and her vendors provides the best catch of the day, freshly picked seasonal vegetables and fruit.
After the market, back to the palazzo for your hands-on cooking lesson in her kitchen: everyone is welcome to join in the preparations, while she carefully explaines her moves, assigning tasks to participants and answering questions as they go.
Lunch is served in one of the palace dining rooms. The table is elegant, set with a silver pheasant centerpiece, linens and silverware. Plates featured the Duke of Palma di Montechiaro’s coat of arms (a lion standing over a crown), cut crystal goblets held water and wine, while heirloom candelabras and low flower arrangements decorated the table.
Participants are given copies of her recipes along with an elegant printed menu with the family crest that includes a history of the palace on the back.
A tour of the family’s Palazzo is  given to participants before they leave for another Sicilian experience.
